Information & Records Officer

35,000 - 40,000 per annum

Manchester City Centre

Hybrid - Min 1 day per week in office but must be flexible to do more when required

Our client, a leading organisation in Manchester, is seeking an experienced Information & Records Officer to work in their busy department as they look to the future of document and record management and retention. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance your technical skills, particularly in Microsoft 365 and Information and Records Management best practises.

SOME OF YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Working with the Records Manager to deliver and maintain best practice, ensure compliance and implementing the document and retention road map
  • Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders of the SharePoint document management system
  • Providing management updates and governance support
  • Developing effective relationships with colleagues across the business and ensuring open lines of communication
  • Responding to enquiries from colleagues regarding document management and retention and offering guidance and support
  • Updating and maintaining guidance and tools to support effective records and information management.
  • Supporting the Manager with development and delivery of colleague training
  • Supporting records management practises in SharePoint, including retention reporting and access control management.
  • Offering occasional support to the document control and scanning team
  • Ensuring GDPR and safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times

TO THRIVE AND SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office 365
  • Experience of working with electronic document and records management systems
  • Ability to support with the development, maintenance, and implementation of records management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confidence in supporting workshops and collaborating with team members.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including using it for analysis, validation and management of data
  • Excellent analytical skills ensuring attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good working knowledge of Data Protection/GDPR.
  • Previous experience of working on a record migrations project would be desirable but not essential
