Job Purpose:

Leading Insurance business with various UK office locations require a Product and Pricing Senior Risk Manager to join an established Risk Management function.  Reporting to the Head of 1st Line Operational Risk you will support in making risk management accessible and effective across the business. You will lead a team of risk experts, fostering collaboration across all lines of defence, and play a key role in implementing the Risk Framework within the Product & Pricing Teams. Your focus will include ensuring consistent risk practices, managing incident frameworks, and enhancing risk maturity through strategic initiatives.

The business offer a flexible hybrid working policy with 2 days per week required in any of the UK office locations which include:  Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Chester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Bournemouth, Ipswich.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of risk experts, promoting risk awareness and competency.
  • Support the implementation and embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) within Underwriting, Pricing, and Product Teams.
  • Coordinate the UK Risk Incident Management Framework, ensuring swift identification, root cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Oversee 2nd and 3rd line review and audit activities, ensuring clear accountability and timely action plans.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Underwriting Officer and Product Governance Teams to ensure effective risk management in product and pricing strategies.
  • Provide expert risk advice on product strategies, pricing processes, and governance activities.
  • Develop robust risk reporting and high-quality risk MI to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of key risk activities within the Product & Pricing Risk Team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in risk management through the development of an annual risk maturity plan, including training and coaching.
  • Ensure customer-centric decision-making and foster a risk-aware culture across the business unit.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in operational risk management, ideally within an insurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of product and pricing strategies, including associated risks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a simple and accessible way.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA/PRA requirements related to product and pricing risk.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and promote a customer-focused, risk-aware culture.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data to drive actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset and experience working with multiple stakeholders across various business areas.
