The businessWe are delighted to be partnering with one of UK’s Top 100 law firm, located in Manchester city centre in the recruitment of a secretary.  The law firm is serving local, national and international clients with offices across the UK.  RoleThe primary purpose of this role is to provide efficient administrative support to a team of fee earners. Responsibilities include client and diary management, file and matter administration, and various office tasks to ensure smooth workflow and organisation.Duties include:
  • Work closely with fee earners to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Maintain fee earners’ diaries and stay informed of their daily commitments.
  • Coordinate and schedule telephone and video conferences, as well as meeting room bookings.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including post distribution.
  • Perform copy and audio typing tasks with speed and accuracy.
  • Monitor workload priorities and communicate any changes with fee earners.
  • Liaise with clients and take instructions under the supervision of fee earners.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly billing.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents using established precedents, under supervision.
  • Prepare forms and reports as required by fee earners.
  • Screen, prioritise, and manage calls, including voicemail messages.
  • Respond to client inquiries and follow up on matters in the absence of fee earners, where appropriate.
  • Accurately input and submit time records.
Person
  • Experience in Employment Law and working within a legal environment is desirable.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT tools.
