Ganymede Solutions is working in partnership with this industry leader to recruit Semi Skilled Operatives for a multi-million-pound digital transformation project based at Manchester International Depot.

As a Semi-Skilled Operative, you’ll play a vital role in the installation and modification of interior onboard systems, including Wi-Fi, CCTV, USB charging points, and passenger information displays. This is your chance to contribute to the rollout of advanced digital technology that enhances both passenger experience and operational efficiency in a dynamic depot environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and assemble components within train interiors as part of digital upgrades
  • Support installation for Wi-Fi systems, Ethernet backbones, CCTV/NVRs, passenger displays, USB sockets, and driver cab enhancements
  • Follow engineering specifications and safety standards while maintaining high build quality
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to deliver work on schedule
  • Communicate progress clearly and escalate issues where necessary

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, including panel wiring, mechanical installation, build, and modifications—ideally gained within rail, automotive, aviation, or other commercial/industrial environments. Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical instructions
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Availability to start on 2nd June
  • Ability to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test and full railway medical (including vision, hearing, cardiovascular, etc.)
  • Right to Work documentation ready for pre-employment compliance
  • Flexible and positive approach to supporting the wider team
