Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective lessons in computer science and related IT subjects.
Plan and assess student progress, ensuring academic standards are met.
Contribute to curriculum development and course planning.
Provide academic and pastoral support to learners, helping them achieve their goals.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements:

A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field.
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to obtain one.
Strong subject knowledge, particularly in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java), web development, and computer systems.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A passion for education and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.

Experience:

Prior experience teaching in a further education or higher education setting is highly desirable.
Industry experience in computing or IT is an advantage, especially where it enhances your teaching.
Experience with blended and digital learning tools (e.g. Moodle, MS Teams) is beneficial.
