Are you a Science graduate ready to bring your knowledge into the classroom? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a number of excellent secondary schools across Tameside who are currently recruiting for committed and capable Science Technicians to start this September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates with a Science degree to gain valuable experience within a school environment, supporting practical learning and helping to inspire the next generation of scientists.

The Role:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of practical science lessons. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, organising, and setting up equipment and materials for Biology, Chemistry and Physics experiments.

  • Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions and ensuring lessons run efficiently.

  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and managing stock levels of materials and chemicals.

  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed within the department.

  • Assisting with general administrative tasks related to the science curriculum.

Requirements:
  • A degree in a Science subject is essential (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related field).

  • Experience in a school or lab environment is an advantage but not essential.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach.

  • A genuine interest in supporting education and science learning.
