Applications Assessor

Location: Angel Square, Coop, Manchester City Centre

Contract: Temporary

Pay Rate: 12.21 per hour (PAYE, weekly pay)

Duration: 5 weeks

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:00pm

The Co-op Group in Manchester are looking to recruit a small team to assess and review funding applications for the Co-op's Local Community Fund.

Based at their central Manchester office, the role involves assessing and validating applications for the fund. You will also be required to cross check information against various databases and handle sensitive information, so having a great eye for detail is very important.

You'll be reading information about exciting community projects that need funding and ensuring these meet our eligibility criteria.

Our client is looking for someone with good communication skills, as this role will involve emailing applicants to gain further information for any incomplete application forms.

You'll be working full-time at their main Head Office, based 5 minutes away from Victoria train and tram station and 3 minutes away from Shudehill bus station. The office has a fully equipped gym and coffee bar, in addition to an onsite shop and post office.

Key Accountabilities

  • To assess all funding applications in detail and investigate any potential issues
  • To cross check organisations against relevant databases and ensure their legitimacy
  • To escalate cases when appropriate, to the correct teams, in a timely manner

Key Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • PC literate, familiar with Outlook and using databases
