Contract Business Analyst – Infrastructure Consolidation (Outside IR35)

Location: Hybrid (Manchester / Remote)

Contract Length: 6 months (possible extension)

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Day Rate: £450–£550 DOE

Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale technical infrastructure consolidation programme within a large insurance group. The role will involve working closely with IT, operations, and third-party vendors to rationalise and unify infrastructure platforms across multiple business units.

This is a contract role assessed as outside IR35, offering flexibility and autonomy, with a mix of on-site workshops and remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and document current-state and target-state infrastructure.
  • Capture business and technical requirements related to infrastructure changes (data centres, cloud migration, networks, servers, etc.).
  • Lead gap analysis and impact assessments across existing platforms.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to align priorities and uncover dependencies.
  • Support infrastructure architects and project managers with clear, actionable analysis and documentation.

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on technical infrastructure or IT transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure domains – such as networks, storage, servers, data centres, or cloud.
  • Ability to work independently to elicit, analyse, and document requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience working with enterprise environments or regulated sectors (e.g., finance, government, healthcare) is advantageous.
  • Comfortable operating within a contractor-led delivery model, outside IR35.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on technical infrastructure or IT transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure domains – such as networks, storage, servers, data centres, or cloud.
  • Ability to work independently to elicit, analyse, and document requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience working with enterprise environments or regulated sectors (e.g., finance, insurance)
