Solution Architect (Higher Education)

Rate - 625 (a day)

Duration - 6 months (initially)

Location - Manchester (Hybrid)

Ir35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company)

We are looking to appoint a Solution Architect to work with our existing architecture team within ITS Strategy & Architecture. The team is responsible for architectural design & governance, and translating ITS strategy into design principles, standards and guidance. It leads the definition and shaping understanding of IT need. ITS Strategy & Architecture is a specialised team with roles across information architecture, solution architecture, business analysis, and business architecture.

Colleague and Student Compute

  • Delivering an improved experience for students in the PC cluster environments and a more robust service for colleagues.
  • Expanding services offering increased flexibility & remote access to Teaching & Learning software
  • Documented designs & processes for new & existing services within Colleague & Student computing
  • Stronger links between IT Services and the Teaching and Learning community for colleague and student computing services.

  • Delivering on-demand, high availability, reusable, stable and managed environments utilising industry-standard tools.
  • On-demand & Automated builds for environments for our core systems.
  • Improved release management & data obfuscation technologies & processes.
  • Robust guidelines, standards and governance
  • Delivering a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution to secure and manage privileged accounts, reducing attack surface, preventing unauthorized access, aligned to industry best practice.
