What Makes This Role Special
As our Head of Stakeholder Engagement & Communications, you'll be at the heart of the strategic leadership team, driving the communications strategy and building the relationships that matter. You'll lead a dedicated team while working directly with senior executives, political leaders, and key stakeholders to deliver impactful communications that support our transformational transport agenda.
Your Impact Will Include:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and deliver comprehensive communications and engagement strategies aligned with corporate priorities.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with political leaders, government bodies, and partner organisations.
- Team Development: Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing communications team.
- Executive Support: Provide strategic communications counsel to the executive team and board
- Multi-channel Communications: Oversee internal communications, media relations, digital engagement, and events.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience:
- Degree level education or equivalent professional experience
- Proven track record in leading corporate communications functions in complex organisations
- Political acumen with deep understanding of local government frameworks and political landscapes
- Stakeholder engagement expertise including experience with political leaders, government bodies, and public sector partners
- Strategic thinking with ability to develop communications strategies that support policy delivery
- Leadership excellence with experience building successful, inclusive teams
- Public relations mastery including media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management.
