Principal Planning Engineer

We’re recruiting a commercially astute and confident Principal Planning Engineer to lead project planning across major contracts, from early-stage development to construction delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and support both operational planning and team growth as project volumes increase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning activity under the Project Controls Manager’s guidance.
  • Build and manage accurate project schedules across all phases.
  • Monitor progress, manage changes, and produce key reports.
  • Perform risk assessments and 'what-if' schedule analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment.
  • Support planning team recruitment as new projects scale.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Full project lifecycle experience (engineering to handover).
  • Strong grasp of time, cost, and commercial interdependencies.
  • Confident using planning software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in Earned Value Analysis (EVA).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in regulated environments.
  • Membership of ACostE, APM, or similar.
