Urban Planner

Manchester Based | £30k-£37k | Flexible Hours Available

We're currently representing a progressive planning consultancy on the lookout for a talented Urban Planner to join their growing team in Manchester. This organisation is known for delivering creative, people-centred planning strategies and offers an exciting opportunity for someone who's ready to take their planning career to the next level.

You'll be joining a collaborative, ideas-driven environment where you're encouraged to think differently, act proactively, and make a real impact on the places and communities you help shape.

The Role:

As a Planner, you'll be working closely with senior consultants and clients on a wide variety of planning projects across the UK. Your role will include:

  • Carrying out planning policy research and initial site appraisals

  • Preparing high-quality written planning advice and reports

  • Managing smaller applications and supporting larger projects

  • Coordinating with external consultants and internal design teams

  • Producing planning updates, client briefings, and social media content

  • Supporting the team's business development efforts and networking activity

What You'll Need:

  • A Master's degree in Planning, Geography, or a similar field

  • Around 2 years of practical experience in a planning or consultancy environment

  • A strategic mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently

  • RTPI Associate membership (or working towards full accreditation)

  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is a plus

  • A UK driver's licence is beneficial but not essential
