Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Bonus (DOE)

About the firm:

A prestigious Legal 500 firm based in Manchester is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience to join their dynamic Employment team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor looking to develop their career in employment law within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied caseload of employment matters acting for both respondents and claimants
  • Advising employers and employees on employment tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and breach of contract
  • Handling disciplinary and grievance procedures for corporate clients
  • Representing claimants in pursuing employment tribunal claims
  • Drafting employment contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Advising on TUPE transfers and redundancy processes
  • Conducting employment tribunal advocacy and representation for both sides
  • Providing strategic HR advice to corporate clients
  • Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship management
  • Mentoring junior team members where appropriate

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE in employment law
  • Experience acting for both respondents and claimants in employment matters is desirable but not essential
  • Experienced in dealing with a caseload of mixed matters including TUPE, unfair dismissal, settlement agreements and discrimination
  • Outstanding drafting abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness and client management skills
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to the team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach to business development
