This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or recently qualified solicitor to develop their skills in a broad range of contentious matters while working in a friendly, client-focused environment.The RoleYou will be joining a busy litigation team that handles a diverse caseload of both civil and commercial disputes. The role offers early responsibility and direct client contact, with the support and mentoring needed to help you progress.Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a mixed caseload of litigation matters including contractual disputes, debt recovery, landlord & tenant disputes, professional negligence, and contentious probate
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel, and legal correspondence
- Attending court hearings, client meetings, and settlement negotiations
- Supporting senior solicitors on more complex matters and larger disputes
- Engaging in business development and networking activities to help grow the department
About You
- This role would suit a commercially minded and confident junior solicitor with a solid foundation in litigation gained during training or post-qualification experience.
You will ideally have:
- NQ to 2 years' PQE in civil and/or commercial litigation
- A practical, solution-focused approach to resolving disputes
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Strong drafting and legal research capabilities
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to get involved in business development
