Eventus Legal are seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join the residential property team of a long-established and well-regarded law firm at their Irlam office. This is a permanent, full-time position offering the chance to work with a client-focused team known for its approachable, jargon-free legal advice and strong local reputation. Alongside a competitive salary, you will benefit from 24 days' annual leave, a weekly breakfast and working within a supportive and experienced conveyancing department in a community-rooted practice.

About the Role

The incoming Conveyancing Assistant will support the smooth progression of residential property transactions by providing administrative and practical assistance to the fee earners. Responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other third parties
  • Conducting AML and compliance checks
  • Reviewing and chasing mortgage offers, searches, and relevant documentation
  • Organising searches
  • Updating case management systems and online portals
  • Drafting legal documentation and correspondence
  • Preparing files for exchange and completion
  • General administrative support such as scanning, filing, and post-handling

The role doesn’t include post-completion matters as they have a separate team handling this part of the transaction.

About You

The ideal candidate will ideally have around 2 years’ experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Executive Assistant in a residential conveyancing department.

To be considered for this job role, you will be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
