We are supporting a Manchester-based Manufacturing company in their search for a dedicated Transport & Logistics Manager, to help support their global growth journey. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very well established business who are putting into action ambitious expansion plans, providing a stable yet highly progressive working environment.

In this role you will take responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the company's logistics network, including 3PL relationships, warehousing, and shipping operations. you will ensure that all logistics activities meet agreed service levels, operate cost-effectively, and deliver on the company's commitment to reliable, transparent, sustainable and customer-focused fulfilment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring service quality, compliance with SLAs, sustainability goals and continuous improvement in delivery performance
  • Track, analyse, and report on logistics KPIs, including delivery performance, cost-to-serve, CRS agreements and stock movements
  • Maintain and improve end-to-end shipping traceability, ensuring accurate and timely tracking information is readily available
  • Design and implement logistics network and infrastructure changes to support growth, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Oversee day-to-day management of logistics operations, including warehouse management and shipping lane performance
  • Collaborate with internal teams, ensuring logistics solutions are the meeting commercial and customer requirements
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost control activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to logistics operations.
  • Lead logistics-related projects, including system implementations and process enhancements.


In order to be considered you need to have:

  • Proven, recent experience in logistics management, including 3PL relationship management and operational oversight
  • Strong understanding of logistics network design, warehouse operations, and shipping lane optimisation
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements in transportation, warehousing, and international shipping

This role will include some international travel, and an on-site presence in Trafford Park will be required when not travelling - please only apply if you are happy to travel and work onsite in Manchester as required.
