Responsibilities for this Purchasing Team Leader role

  • Management of the overall Purchasing Assistant pool, directing the workflow and workload across the team.
  • Support individual professional development of direct reports (PDR's, training etc.).
  • Deliver accurate and timely administrative services for the full Buying team.
  • Set and attain KPI's relating to the activities undertaken by the Assistant pool that are aligned with Group Purchasing objectives.
  • Maintain expert knowledge around administrative processes, developing support manuals and providing ongoing training to support team development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders critical to the delivery of Group Purchasing objectives to improve the quality of data and level of service that the Purchasing team receives.

Skills required or this for this Purchasing Team Leader role

  • Strong people management, team leading and communication skills
  • Experience in a management position within a Purchasing, Sales, Contact Centre or Similar function
  • Persuasion and influencing experience with the Purchasing Management Team.
  • Highly numerate and analytical.
  • Extremely organised, efficient and motivated for self and others.
  • Fluent in the English language with evident written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent overall written and verbal communication and persuasion skills.
  • Assured when soliciting feedback in the case prioritising tasks and managing deadline expectations.
  • IT literate in SAP, Business Warehouse and other Microsoft packages (Outlook, Excel - Pivot tables, VLookups, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Experienced in the general working of Group Purchasing and the administrative tasks that support procurement.
