Controls Engineer

Due to growth, we are looking to introduce a Controls Engineer into a state-of-the-art facility in Manchester with a global Manufacturer. This position will enable you to challenge your skills, whilst further progressing and developing your career

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in department/plant safety programs. Promote safety rules and regulations
  • Be responsible for the design, ease of operation, and maintenance of the control systems at the manufacturing site.
  • Design, implementation & testing of control system changes required due to equipment upgrades, capacity expansion, new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Function as a trouble-shooter and provide technical support to Operations and field technicians.
  • Perform system analysis, improvement, scoping studies, front-end design work, and/or collaborate on designs with contractors and consultants.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise Control Systems implementations including operation & maintenance procedures
  • Monitor and identify mal-performing instruments impacting control loop performance.
  • Develop and install advanced controls that ensure plant operators and line management can achieve the optimal run-point for each process to achieve production targets.

Experience

  • Previous experience with the Siemens PCS7 DCS platform is highly preferred
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a results-oriented commitment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Manufacturing Experienced
