Michael Page is working with a growing FMCG business to recruit an experienced Production Manager for their Blending and Blowmoulding departments at their Manchester based plant. They will manage a complex team and process and will be tasked to optimise the production processes whilst ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the department.

Description

The Production Manager will be responsible for 2 departments, 4 direct reports and approx 80. team members within a fast paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. They will lead on driving optimal performance by challenging process and implementing continuous improvement methodologies in the pursuit of operational excellence.

The day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the quality, efficiency, and safety of all manufacturing operations
  • Manage and optimise the blending and blowmoulding production processes
  • Champion, initiate and drive forward Lean and range of continuous improvement projects
  • Drive the strategic development of the Filling, Blending and Blowmoulding Departments
  • Champion the development of staff at all levels through training, appraisals, talent reviews and regular briefings

Profile

The successful Production Manager will possess a range for the following:

  • Proven experience in a similar position within the FMCG industry
  • Demonstrable leadership acumen
  • Experience implementing and driving lean principles and continuous improvement
  • Experience working with complex processes at pace
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and decision making skills
