Site Manager - New Build School
Location: Salford
Rate: 300 per day

We're working with a main contractor delivering a 10m new-build school project in Salford, currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will report directly to a site-based Project Manager and play a key role in ensuring smooth daily site operations through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily site activities, subcontractors, and labour.

  • Maintain programme progress and coordinate materials deliveries.

  • Ensure health & safety standards are rigorously upheld.

  • Report progress, issues, and updates to the Project Manager.

  • Oversee quality of workmanship and resolve on-site issues promptly.

  • Liaise with the wider project team and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing new-build school or education sector projects of similar scale.

  • Valid SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certifications.

  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, enforce H&S, and keep to tight programme deadlines.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
