Our client, a leading firm specialising in the water sector, is currently seeking both Mechanical Design Engineers and Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role offers hybrid working opportunities and is based out of their Manchester office. Our client is especially interested in candidates with UK Water experience, but those from other regulated industries will also be considered. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in long-term projects across AMP8.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of mechanical components and systems for water sector projects
- Creation of detailed mechanical designs and specifications
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure project success
- Conducting analysis and simulation to verify design integrity
- Reviewing and approving mechanical designs and documentation
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Participating in project meetings and presenting technical findings
Job Requirements:
- Experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the water sector but not essential
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools
- Understanding of regulated industry standards and compliance requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Willingness to work on a hybrid basis and attend the Manchester office as required
