Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking for your next challenge in the rail industry? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer (PE) to join our clients team, supporting the successful delivery of signalling projects across the network. As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring engineering work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency while helping to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager and management team to monitor progress and achieve design, construction, testing, and financial targets.
  • Ensure all engineering activities meet technical and safety standards, supporting compliance with CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and company procedures.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating project activities, including preparation of Racecards, Lookaheads, and SWP applications.
  • Act as Work Package Manager (WPM) for assigned project elements, taking responsibility for delivery to agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Support the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) and Contract Engineering Manager (CEM) as required, including acting as engineering representative on smaller projects (Review tenders, evaluate technical quality, and recommend optimal solutions for project delivery.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve seamless integration and delivery success.
  • Maintain project documentation, including H&S files, asset trackers, and change management records.


Experience Required:

  • Experience in rail engineering, ideally with knowledge of design, construction, testing, and possession planning.
  • Awareness of Network Rail standards and the design approvals process.
  • IRSE Licence 7.8.110F (with IRSE logbook maintained).
  • Valid ATW and COSS Competence certifications.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence.
