Job Title: Bench Assembly Technician
Location: Old Trafford, Manchester
Salary: 12.21 p/h (+ bonus if targets achieved)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Annual leave: 23 days plus statutory bank holidays
We are a leading UK manufacturer of medical products offering a fantastic opportunity for the right person. The role will involve: Providing high levels of 1st line support to an agreed preventative maintenance plan to service and repair medical products within hospitals and ambulance services on-site.
Job Purpose:
To assemble medical gas control devices, components and sub-assemblies at a workstation or bench according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical and/or electrical components using hand tools, power tools, or semi-automated equipment.
- Interpret and follow assembly instructions, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Conduct visual and functional quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications.
- Identify and report defects or non-conforming materials to the quality control team
- Maintain accurate records of production and report completion of tasks to the team lead.
- Perform minor adjustments, rework, or repairs on assembled units as needed.
- Ensure workstation cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols and practices.
- Meet daily / weekly production goals while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Assist in inventory control of assembly components.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and other team members to resolve assembly issues.
About you:
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bench assembly, electronics, or light manufacturing role preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics and work instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Proficient in using hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems (an advantage).
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically able to sit or stand for long periods and lift up to [10-25 kg] as needed.
Education:
- GCSEs or equivalent (Maths and English preferred).
- Technical training or vocational qualification in manufacturing or electronics (and advantage).
Working Conditions:
- Standard hours: 37.5 [e.g., 8:30 am - 5.00 pm, Monday-Thurs, 8;30 am to 3;45 Friday]
- May require overtime during peak production periods.
- Work is typically performed at a seated or standing bench in a light manufacturing environment.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment may be required and will be provided.
