Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer - Building Services
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: Up to 60,000 + 6,000 Car Allowance

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 Office Days, 2 WFH), with Core Hours 10-3
A growing and well-respected building services consultancy in Manchester is seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to play a pivotal role in its engineering team. You will work closely with the companies two directors and will involve both technical leadership and mentoring junior staff - all while maintaining strong client relationships on high-end, design-led projects in a niche space where work is abundant. Working on legacy projects or being asked to do variations that go above and beyond your normal working week is a tiring necessity for many, here briefs are extremely detailed before the design process begins and all variations are additions and form part of a regular working week.
You'll be based in a newly refurbished Manchester city centre office - a smart, collaborative space shared with other teams in the business, totalling around 20 people in total.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead mechanical building services design projects across sectors, particularly prime and super-prime residential, this may also include Hotels.
- Collaborate closely with architects and developers whilst working on the highest of high-end projects with immaculate finishes and some state of the art equipment to boot.
- Attend client meetings and provide a confident knowledgeable and reliable front for the business.
- As most of the work in London based, you will need to go to site once a week/fortnight for project meetings - no overnight stays.
About You:
- You're a self-sufficient engineer with consultancy experience and a track record of delivering mechanical design projects.
- Confident in a client-facing role and interested in the high-end residential space.
- Comfortable working with junior team members and stepping into a leadership/mentoring position.
- You may already be chartered or working towards it.
