I'm supporting a leading engineering and design practice in their search for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a chartered engineer who's passionate about sustainable, high-quality design and keen to influence major projects across a variety of sectors.
You'll take a senior role within a collaborative studio, working on a diverse workload spanning residential, education, commercial, development and regeneration schemes. You'll work closely with both private and public-sector clients, using your technical expertise and communication skills to drive high standards across every project.
As a key member of the team, you'll help lead, mentor and develop a group of value-driven engineers, while further strengthening your own leadership, commercial and project management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality structural engineering design
- Preparing, reviewing and signing off drawings, reports and calculations
- Briefing, supporting and developing Engineers and Technicians
- Attending project meetings and undertaking occasional site inspections
- Participating in internal design reviews and critiques
- Providing project-based training and guidance
- Supporting Directors with technical and project-related tasks
- Writing technical reports and specifications
- Overseeing project resourcing, programming and deadline management
- Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and internal quality management systems
About You
- Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer (or equivalent)
- Strong technical and design capability across a variety of building sectors
- Collaborative, communicative and confident working directly with clients
- Experienced in leading and developing engineering teams
- Passionate about sustainable design, architecture and the wider built environment
- Motivated, empathetic and able to influence positively within a team environment
