I'm supporting a leading engineering and design practice in their search for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a chartered engineer who's passionate about sustainable, high-quality design and keen to influence major projects across a variety of sectors.

You'll take a senior role within a collaborative studio, working on a diverse workload spanning residential, education, commercial, development and regeneration schemes. You'll work closely with both private and public-sector clients, using your technical expertise and communication skills to drive high standards across every project.

As a key member of the team, you'll help lead, mentor and develop a group of value-driven engineers, while further strengthening your own leadership, commercial and project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality structural engineering design
  • Preparing, reviewing and signing off drawings, reports and calculations
  • Briefing, supporting and developing Engineers and Technicians
  • Attending project meetings and undertaking occasional site inspections
  • Participating in internal design reviews and critiques
  • Providing project-based training and guidance
  • Supporting Directors with technical and project-related tasks
  • Writing technical reports and specifications
  • Overseeing project resourcing, programming and deadline management
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and internal quality management systems

About You

  • Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer (or equivalent)
  • Strong technical and design capability across a variety of building sectors
  • Collaborative, communicative and confident working directly with clients
  • Experienced in leading and developing engineering teams
  • Passionate about sustainable design, architecture and the wider built environment
  • Motivated, empathetic and able to influence positively within a team environment
