Cover People are actively searching for a Behaviour Mentor looking for an exciting position to make a difference by supporting a secondary aged child with complex SEMH needs and challenging behaviours across their timetable in a mainstream secondary school in Middleton. The school would prefer applicants with experience in an Alternate Provision or PRU however this isn’t essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor on a 1:1 basis to provide social and emotional support
  • Liaise directly with the Assistant & SENDCo to ensure behaviour plans are being successfully implemented
  • Navigate around challenges particularly with challenging behaviour
  • Promote self-esteem and independence through consistent support
  • Build rapport with departments, pastoral officers and SLT to ensure the highest possible level of support

Requirements:

  • Alternate Provision OR PRU experience is valuable but not essential
  • Understanding of SEMH & experience of dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Team Tech or De-escalation training is beneficial

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. The above vacancy is a temporary position. Occasionally, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
