The Role
As their new Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), you’ll play a vital role in their pharmacy operations, ensuring patients receive precisely the right medication, in the right dose, every time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions in line with ACT SOPs
- Assist in stock management including ordering, receiving, and logging deliveries
- Ensure compliance with GPhC guidelines and pharmacy law
- Report discrepancies to the pharmacist and uphold patient safety
- Provide advice and support to customers when appropriate
- Maintain accurate records of all dispensed items and controlled drugs
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists and support staff
- Participate in training to maintain and enhance ACT competency
- Support day-to-day pharmacy duties, including cleanliness and dispensing

The Ideal Candidate:
You’re an experienced pharmacy professional with a passion for detail and a commitment to accuracy. You work well under pressure, communicate clearly, and love being part of a high-performing team. About you:
- Registration as a qualified ACT with the GPhC
- Previous pharmacy experience, ideally in a busy setting
- Excellent knowledge of pharmacy laws and standards
- A keen eye for detail with strong error-spotting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A team-oriented approach with initiative
- IT proficiency in pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Experience training junior staff
- Familiarity with pharmacy technologies and digital systems
