We are seeking a Resident Engagement Officer to join our Housing Services team within the Neighbourhoods Directorate. This role is crucial for carrying out enforcement visits for Gas and Electrical Safety checks, acting as a Council representative to ensure access is granted and properties are made safe. The successful candidate will have strong people and communication skills, a driving license, and access to a car.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Attend properties alongside an Engineer and Locksmith to conduct enforcement visits for safety checks.
  • Act as a Council representative to ensure access is granted and enter properties following a lock change where necessary.
  • Cold call and arrange enforcement visits with contractors, and hand deliver enforcement letters.
  • Assist the M+E team in achieving compliance for overdue gas and electrical safety checks.
  • Coordinate and implement community events and initiatives.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders to enhance social value engagement offers.
  • Provide support and assistance to residents involved with Manchester City Council and their communities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Administrative skills with the ability to maintain effective systems.
  • Must be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car.
  • Basic understanding of Excel and ability to manage a shared spreadsheet.
