Position Overview:
Equitas are seeking a passionate and dedicated Curriculum Lead/SEMH Teacher to join Good Osted rated SEN school. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the curriculum, managing SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provisions, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the school. This role requires a dynamic educator with a strong leadership background and a commitment to supporting students' academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Lead Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the development of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of learners across all year groups.

Support the headteacher in preparing the Self Evaluation Report and School Improvement Plan.

Develop and implement policies, schemes of work, and initiatives to enhance the curriculum.

Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure the successful implementation of curriculum strategies.

Promote a positive ethos that encourages high levels of achievement and effective teaching.

Lead curriculum-related meetings and manage the induction and mentoring of new staff.
Teaching and Learning Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons to students with SEMH needs at KS3 and KS4.

Use assessment data to monitor student progress and promote both academic and emotional development.

Create a supportive, stimulating, and well-structured learning environment.

Support students with SEND and SEMH needs, including managing individual learning plans.

Develop a bespoke curriculum that meets students' academic and personal development needs.

Promote and model positive behaviour and high expectations in all learning contexts.
Leadership Responsibilities:

Line manage a team of staff and oversee the performance management and development of the teaching team.

Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external agencies to ensure the well-being and success of students.

Support the SENCo in developing and reviewing Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and monitoring pupil progress.

Develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive school environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

Experience in a leadership role, preferably within the SEMH or SEND field.

Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH needs, with the ability to tailor teaching strategies accordingly.

Experience in developing and delivering a curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of students.
