Our client, a leading company in the rail sector, is seeking a Lead Engineer/CRE (Civils) for a long-term contract based in the North West region. This role will involve working on a large rail infrastructure project and requires a strong background in civils, particularly lineside civils. The successful applicant will be working inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the delivery of civil engineering projects within the rail sector
- Be the design & construction interface
- Managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the project engineering team
- Ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations
- Acting as the Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) for civil works
- Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
- Providing technical guidance and ensuring quality control throughout project phases
- Preparing and reviewing project documentation and reports
- Maintaining effective communication with the client and project team
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in civil engineering within the rail industry
- Proven experience performing CRE duties and obtaining sign-off
- Strong understanding of lineside civils and associated challenges
- Holder of a valid PTS/Sentinel certification
- Excellent project management and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
