Job Summary

The Quality Control Operator is responsible for performing detailed inspections and tests to ensure all products meet established quality standards. This includes end-of-line quality checks and in-process verification, supporting continuous product integrity from assembly to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform end-of-line quality checks on assembled equipment to ensure final product conformance.

  • Conduct basic checks including visual inspection, verification of component presence, labeling accuracy, and cleanliness.

  • Inspect the tightness of bolts and fittings using torque tools and standard procedures.

  • Evaluate paint quality for proper coverage, finish, and adherence to specifications.

  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of nameplate details including part numbers, serial numbers, ratings, and customer-specific data.

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using appropriate measuring tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres, gauges).

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine inspection criteria.

  • Record and document inspection findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions in compliance with internal systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Communicate quality issues to the production and engineering teams, and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Assist with quality audits, calibration of tools and equipment, and general upkeep of the quality control area.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in quality or manufacturing preferred.

  • 2+ years of quality control or inspection experience, preferably in a mechanical or industrial manufacturing setting.

  • Familiarity with fluid-flow equipment, valves, pumps, or related mechanical systems is an advantage.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow inspection protocols.

  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good organizational skills.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.

Preferred Certifications
  • ISO 9001 internal auditor certification

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)

  • Training or experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies

Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing and assembly floor environment

  • Exposure to noise, dust, and mechanical equipment

  • Standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly

  • PPE required (safety shoes, eye protection, etc.)
