About the Role

We are working with a respected third-party consultancy that is looking to hire a Senior Pension Administrator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pensions professional with in-depth knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced environment.

You will take ownership of complex casework, mentor junior administrators, and serve as a key point of contact for a portfolio of DB clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, delivering high-quality service, and wants to work with a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of DB pension scheme administration, including retirements, transfers, deaths, and benefit calculations.
  • Act as the main contact for a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Check and approve work done by junior team members, providing coaching and support as needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with current legislation, internal procedures, and client SLAs.
  • Support scheme events such as annual benefit statements, pension increases, and GMP rectification.
  • Liaise with actuaries, consultants, payroll providers, and trustees where appropriate.
  • Assist in process improvements and contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in administering Defined Benefit pension schemes.
  • Solid understanding of current pensions legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Good interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Experience in checking work and mentoring junior staff.
