We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Mechanical & Electrical) to work on behalf of a leading infrastructure consultancy, supporting the upgrade of Manchester Airport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with strong M&E and NEC contract experience to represent one of the worlds leading consultancies on a high-profile, complex project.
Role Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of mechanical and electrical elements of the build, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and in accordance with NEC contract requirements. The role requires a hands-on presence on site in Manchester for a minimum of three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design and delivery of M&E building services works
- Act as Project Manager under NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and best practice
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, and stakeholders across design and construction phases
- Monitor programme, cost, quality, and risk for M&E packages
- Ensure health & safety, statutory and airport compliance requirements are met
- Report progress and issues to senior stakeholders and the client team
- Support resolution of technical, commercial, and programme challenges
- Proven experience delivering M&E building services projects
- Strong and demonstrable experience working under NEC contracts
- Experience acting in a Project Manager or similar client-facing role
- Ability and willingness to be on site in Manchester 3 days per week
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience working on airport or aviation infrastructure projects
- Experience on large, complex infrastructure or major building programmes
- Chartered or working towards professional accreditation (e.g. APM, RICS, CIBSE)
- Work on a major UK infrastructure project at Manchester Airport ✈️
