Team Manager—Property Post Completion (Residential & Commercial Property)Location: Manchester A leading law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead its busy Property Support Team, with a strong focus on post-completion work in commercial property. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior legal support professional with deep knowledge of post-completion processes, particularly in commercial real estate, to step into a leadership role and drive best-in-class service across the property division. Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of post-completion specialists and ensuring all post-completion tasks — including Land Registry, SDLT/LTT submissions, Companies House registrations, and property searches — are completed efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with leadership and team development. You’ll liaise closely with Fee Earners across property teams to ensure seamless support and be instrumental in shaping processes and workflows.Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management
  • Lead, motivate and support the Property Support team across all post-completion functions
  • Monitor team performance, allocate workloads, and ensure service levels are met
  • Provide training, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to team members
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices across the team
Technical Expertise (Commercial & Residential Property Focus)
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of Land Registry applications (Transfers, Leases, Charges, RXs, CN1s)
  • Manage complex post-completion matters relating to commercial property and finance transactions
  • Handle and resolve Land Registry requisitions and complex queries
  • Ensure accurate and timely SDLT/LTT returns and payments, including calculations on complex matters
  • Oversee registration of Charges and Debentures at Companies House
Compliance & Systems
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within legal timeframes (e.g., SDLT 14-day limit, Companies House 21-day limit)
  • Maintain and review team trackers, checklists, and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Support the team in staying current with changes to legislation and procedural requirements
  • Work collaboratively with legal, compliance, and operational teams
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in both residential & commercial property post-completion work is essential
  • Experience in residential property post-completion also highly valued
  • Prior experience managing or supervising a legal support team
  • Strong working knowledge of Land Registry, SDLT/LTT, and Companies House procedures
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Experience using case management systems (Proclaim)
