A leading not-for-profit organisation in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to support the delivery of an efficient and compliant procurement service. This role is perfect for a motivated procurement professional looking to take ownership of high-impact projects and help drive value across a significant annual spend of approx. £52 million.

Description

The Role

You'll play a key part in a small but high-performing procurement team, supporting procurement strategy and delivering cost-effective, compliant solutions that align with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on procurement projects across various categories, including preparing tender documentation and managing end-to-end processes.

  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders across departments, supporting strategic decision-making.

  • Ensure all procurement activity complies with UK legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.

  • Help develop and implement targets related to cashable savings and social value.

  • Support supplier base consolidation and effective contract management in collaboration with senior colleagues.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement and contract management systems.

Profile

About You

We're looking for a proactive and skilled individual with:

  • A strong background in public sector procurement.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. MCIPS, CIPS) or working toward one.

  • Knowledge of public procurement law and regulations.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.

  • A commercial mindset and attention to delivering value for money.
