Job Opportunity: Quality Technician (Permanent)
Location: Trafford Park, Manchester
Salary: 37-40K plus benefits
Shift Pattern: Standard 37.5 hours per week

An established manufacturing company based in Trafford Park, Manchester, is looking to recruit a Quality Technician to join their growing team. The role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet industry and customer standards, while maintaining compliance throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct final inspections of finished parts and assemblies

  • Perform in-process inspections, including subcontracted processes

  • Analyse data and generate certification documents for customer compliance

  • Liaise with multiple departments such as Production, Customer Services, and Commercial

  • Complete QA documentation, including quality control plans, inspection plans, and test reports

  • Handle failed inspections by conducting root cause analysis, collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve issues, and implementing corrective actions

  • Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models with a focus on precision

  • Use tools such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), digital calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators to assess part accuracy

Skills & Experience:

  • Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100D (Aerospace), and AS9102 (FAI) standards

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models

  • Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in an aerospace environment is preferred

  • Strong analytical skills with experience handling and interpreting data for certifications

  • Ability to resolve issues with a proactive and solutions-focused approach

  • Good understanding of quality control and assurance processes

  • Experience with measurement tools like CMM, digital calipers, and micrometers is essential

Personal Attributes:

  • Must be reliable, adaptable, and thorough in approach

  • Ability to manage large volumes of work while maintaining quality and compliance

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across different teams

  • Physically fit and capable of handling components as part of inspections
