Operating in a modern, well-equipped office in Manchester city centre, they are continuing to grow their specialist team within the public realm and civil infrastructure space.

Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding Public Realm & Civils team in Manchester. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering cost and commercial management across a variety of high-profile infrastructure and regeneration projects. Working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to influence project outcomes from inception to completion, ensuring value, compliance, and client satisfaction throughout.



Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the full commercial lifecycle of public realm and civils projects.

  • Preparing cost estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.

  • Supporting procurement processes and managing contract negotiations.

  • Monitoring budgets, valuations, and variations throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Leading on contract administration and reporting, including cost/value reconciliations.

  • Working closely with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Contributing to risk management, forecasting, and final account settlements.

  • Ensuring all projects adhere to legal and quality standards.



What you will need to succeed:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3-5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally within consultancy or civils sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.

  • Proven experience working on public realm, highways, or infrastructure projects.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

  • High attention to detail and commercial awareness.

  • Chartered status (MRICS) is desirable but not essential.
