The Project
As an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will hold a key position within the senior commercial team, overseeing the commercial management of multiple packages / projects across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, and retail, with construction values ranging from 2 million to 10 million. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that each project adheres to specifications, meets industry standards, and fulfils client expectations. Success in this role will require strategic thinking, strong commercial acumen, and effective leadership to drive project performance and maintain strict budgetary control.
Requirements
It is essential that you hold the experience below;
- A demonstrated track record of effectively managing and delivering commercial packages on projects across the residential, industrial, commercial, and retail sectors, with construction values between 2 million and over 10 million.
- A solid background in the construction industry, with over five years of experience in a comparable role for a reputable contractor or subcontractor.

Duties
- Procurement
- Evaluation of tender cost estimates
- Closely liaise and reporting to Managing Director
- Review and compare contractor and supplier bids
- Generate material usage and reconciliation summaries
- Evaluate the financial efficiency of alternative design solutions
- Implement reliable and effective cost control methods and strategies
- Manage cash flow and deliver regular financial reports to stakeholders
- Oversee project costs, ensuring they remain within the established budget
- Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Establish cost reporting systems to effectively monitor and manage project expenses
- Provide mentorship and support to junior quantity surveyors and other team members
- Participate in project meetings, providing expert advice and insights on cost-related issues
- Maintain up to date, precise records of all financial transactions and project documentation
- Supervise the financial effects of design modifications and negotiate any necessary revisions
- Perform in-depth cost analysis and comprehensive feasibility assessments for proposed projects
- Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors
- Create cost plans and forecasts to ensure efficient budget management throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead negotiation processes and facilitate resolution of conflicts to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for the project and integrate them into the planning phase
- Complete financial reconciliations and preserve supporting documentation to ensure seamless project closure
- Monitor cost and financial risks related to the project and apply strategies to address and mitigate potential issues
- Negotiate and finalise contract agreements with contractors and suppliers to align with project scope and budget
- Maintain strict compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications, delivering results that align with client expectations
