We're looking for a Nuclear Compliance Security Lead to oversee radiological security in a brand-new alpha radionuclide lab. This is a vital role ensuring regulatory compliance, physical and personnel security, and emergency preparedness in a secure, high-hazard facility.
You'll work closely with safety, environmental, and technical teams to manage compliance, implement nuclear security protocols, and liaise with regulatory and government bodies. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about high-integrity, high-impact security operations.
Key Responsibilities:-
Act as point of contact for security regulators (e.g., CTSA, EA)

Manage physical security (access controls, monitoring, alarms, inspections)

Oversee vetting and ongoing personnel security for facility staff

Maintain compliance documentation and prepare Temporary Security Plans

Coordinate with internal teams (IT, InfoSec, Estates) on integrated security systems

Support risk assessments, emergency planning and demonstration exercises

Operate as part of an on-call rota for incident response

Degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent)

Deep understanding of radiological security requirements and regulations

Experience managing security for radionuclide or high-hazard labs

Skilled in physical, personnel, and information security frameworks

Familiar with IAEA security guidance and UK nuclear regulatory standards

Strong communication, judgement, and interdisciplinary coordination abilities

Able to work full-time on-site and maintain BPSS/CTC clearance
