About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children and families? Do you have the skills to create safe, nurturing environments where positive relationships can flourish? We are looking for a Family Contact Worker to join our dedicated Family Support Services team.

In this vital role, you will supervise and facilitate contact sessions between children and their families, ensuring that each interaction is safe, meaningful, and supports the child’s emotional wellbeing. You will work closely with social workers, families, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for children in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support family contact sessions in a safe and structured environment
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals
  • Apply a range of intervention methods to educate and promote positive change
  • Maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports
  • Work flexibly as part of a multi-agency team, including some weekend work
What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a relevant care or support environment
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary settings and with external agencies
  • Strong communication skills across a range of audiences
  • Driving Licence & Access to a vehicle 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Understanding of child development and attachment theory
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and information sharing protocols
  • Ability to analyse complex information and write clear reports
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • A solution-focused, non-judgemental approach
Additional Information
  • Core working hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • 2 in 4 Saturdays required (rota basis)
  • 3% unsocial hours allowance for weekend work
