Manchester City Council is seeking an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer to join the Community Safety team. This role is crucial as the first point of contact for all requests to the team, responsible for triaging each request and determining necessary actions. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you will handle cases related to antisocial behaviour, domestic abuse, and more.
Day-to-day of the role:- Serve as the first point of contact for all requests to the Community Safety Team.
- Triage each request to determine the appropriate action, which may include referring to other teams within Housing Services or handling the complaint directly.
- Engage with complainants to discuss and suggest resolutions without further intervention.
- Send pre-case letters to alleged perpetrators to address behaviour proactively.
- Update ongoing cases and communicate with complainants about case progress.
- Open new antisocial behaviour cases and refer callers to the Housing Management Caseworker managing their case.
- Handle domestic abuse incidents reported through the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARA) process.
- Deal with low-level requests for assistance or refer to Housing Management Caseworkers (HMCs) for further intervention.
- Proven experience managing antisocial behaviour, domestic abuse, hate incidents, and property condition cases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of the QL housing management system is beneficial.
- Valid Standard DBS on the update service is required.
