The Role
As a CDM Consultant / Principal Designer, you will play a central role in advising clients on compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently. You will act as the key point of contact for clients, design teams, and contractors, guiding them through the health and safety requirements from concept to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 regulations
- Providing specialist CDM consultancy and advice to clients and project teams
- Undertaking design risk reviews and advising on design risk management
- Preparing pre-construction information and reviewing health & safety files
- Carrying out site inspections and audits to ensure compliance
The Person
The ideal candidate will be motivated, proactive, and keen to develop their career in a collaborative consultancy environment. You should have:
- Experience working as a CDM Consultant or Principal Designer
- A solid understanding of CDM 2015 and wider Health & Safety legislation
- A background in construction, architecture, or building surveying (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing ability
- Membership of IOSH, APS, or working towards chartered status
