The Role
As a Substance Misuse Doctor, you will play a key role within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. You'll provide clinical assessments, prescribing, and health interventions that promote recovery and wellbeing. Working under the guidance of a Consultant in Addiction Medicine and Clinical Services Manager, you'll help maintain and improve the quality of care delivered across the service.
This is an ideal opportunity for GPs with a portfolio career or doctors with an interest in addiction medicine seeking flexibility and meaningful work. Full training and ongoing professional development are provided.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face and remote clinical consultations
  • Initiate and review prescribing for substance misuse treatment
  • Support the development of best clinical practice within the team
  • Work collaboratively with psychosocial staff and external partners
  • Contribute to the improvement of service user outcomes and recovery pathways

What We're Looking For:

  • GMC-registered Doctor (essential)
  • Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience, with 2 years in a relevant specialty preferred
  • Experience in managing physical and psychiatric comorbidities
  • Experience in addiction medicine desirable, but not essential - full training provided
  • Right to work in the UK
