Duties and responsibilties

  • Youth Justice Case Manager - assignment for 6 to 9 months. We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.
  •  This post will be part of a multi-agency team providing an integrated approach to delivering services to achieve the principal aim of the youth justice system, which is to prevent offending by children and young people.
  •  Trafford Youth Justice works to specific targets and objectives set in an annual Youth Justice Performance Plan, and the post holder will be expected to work towards these targets and within the framework set by Youth Justice National Standards.  Trafford Youth Justice works within the court arena, in the community and supervises young people in custodial settings, as well as having contact with victims of crime.
  •  This post contributes to the overall team objectives by offering intervention and support to young people in contact with the criminal justice system and their families in accordance with assessed risks and needs.   The post-holder will be expected to cover a range of duties outlined in this job description, and to adopt a flexible approach to working with young people and their families in the community, in order to protect the public, prevent re-offending and secure positive outcomes for young people.
  •  Case Managers are expected to take responsibility for young people with more complex needs or with a higher risk of offending or of serious harm.  As such they must have the ability to build relationships with all young people, including those with challenging behaviours and/or limited social skills, and to carry out appropriate tailored interventions to achieve positive outcomes.
