We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Justice Case Manager to join our Trafford Youth Justice Team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing, multi-agency team committed to preventing offending and reoffending by children and young people.

About the Role

As a Case Manager, you will:

  • Work with young people with complex needs or higher risk of offending.
  • Deliver tailored interventions in line with assessed risks and needs.
  • Operate across court, community, custodial, and victim engagement settings.
  • Support the delivery of the Youth Justice Performance Plan and comply with Youth Justice National Standards.
  • Collaborate with families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Qualifications and Professional Development

You must hold one of the following:

  • DipSW / Diploma in Youth and Community Work / PGCE / Diploma in Probation Studies, or
  • NVQ Level 4 in Community Justice or Youth Justice Studies

And:

  • Demonstrate evidence of continuous personal and professional development
Experience and Knowledge

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience working with children and young people in:
    • Social care
    • Youth work
    • Youth justice/criminal justice
    • Education
    • Children’s Services (e.g. safeguarding)
  • Experience of multi-agency planning and joint interventions
  • Knowledge of:
    • Youth justice, child welfare, and criminal legislation
    • Youth Justice Board guidance
    • Risk management and safeguarding
    • Child protection procedures
    • Youth development and offending risk factors
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to motivate and engage young people in structured programmes
  • Strong planning and organisational skills; able to manage caseloads effectively
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with families and victims
  • Skilled in presenting concise, relevant information to varied audiences

  • Committed to safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes
