PHP / JavaScript Developer - Remote
A leading, acquisitive, £500m turnover construction engineering business (with revenues expected to double in the coming years) is seeking a PHP / JavaScript Developer.
You'll be joining a small focused team working on a digital platform powering major infrastructure projects across rail, highways, and energy. This software helps with streamlining workflows, connecting teams, and providing real-time visibility across the lifecycle of a project. This tool is used in the field every day to collect data, run quality checks, and radically reduce the need for site visits - all powered by 100% renewable energy.
You'll report to the Lead Developer and work directly on high-impact features that make life easier for engineers, project managers, and infrastructure planners.
Role Responsibilities:
- Write clean, reliable PHP and JavaScript code in a Laravel and MySQL environment.
- Build and improve tools that handle assurance, design, material tracking, and project workflows.
- Collaborate via Slack in daily standups and async work throughout the day.
- Use AI-powered tools like Cursor IDE to speed up and streamline development.
- Work autonomously - Our client trust devs to take a brief and get the job done, without micromanagement or client distractions
Requirements:
- Solid experience with PHP, JavaScript, Laravel, MySQL, and AWS.
- A self-starter who takes ownership of their work.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving environment
- SCRUM experience is a bonus
Up to £50k PA - Remote based
