Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant, providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:

As a SEND LSA, you will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SENCO to support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. The role involves helping students access the curriculum, develop essential life skills, and manage their emotional and behavioural needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

You will:

  • Support pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Adapt learning materials to suit individual abilities and learning styles.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages independence and confidence.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies where necessary.

  • Monitor and report on student progress and development.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in schools, care settings, or similar environments).

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A genuine passion for making a difference in young lives.

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.

  • Relevant qualifications such as a CACHE Level 2/3, a degree in education or psychology, or equivalent experience are advantageous but not essential.
