We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly reputable and supportive special school. About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with autism and complex needs on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Help deliver a curriculum designed around practical, real-world learning experiences.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal growth.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.
- Support with behaviour management, communication, and daily activities both inside and outside the classroom.
About You
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in schools, youth work, or care settings).
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive in your approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of SEND legislation (e.g. EHCPs) is an advantage.
- A team player with a flexible, solution-focused mindset.
- A driver with access to a vehicle is essential as travel across the two school sites will be required.
