Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Temporary
Location: Various locations across Greater Manchester


Purpose of the Role:


As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning of pupils across the school. Working under the guidance of the class teacher and/or SENCo, you'll help ensure every pupil has the opportunity to access the curriculum and reach their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Provide individual and small group support to pupils across various subjects.
Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging learning activities.
Help manage pupil behaviour, fostering positive attitudes towards learning.
Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEN, EAL, or emotional/behavioural challenges.
Contribute to assessing and monitoring pupil progress.
Encourage the development of pupils' social and emotional skills.
Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and school trips as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean learning environment.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

Person Specification:
Essential:


Experience working with children in an educational setting.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Desirable:


Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate).
Experience supporting children with SEN.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
