Milk Education are currently recruiting a nurturing and ambitious Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive college in South Manchester. The college provides specialist education for students aged 16 to 25 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, focusing on each individual’s potential and personal growth.

In this role, you will work closely with students, helping to implement tailor-made learning and support plans that empower every young person to grow into the adult they aspire to be. You’ll play a vital part in fostering independence, confidence, and academic development.

 What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:

  • Promoting independence inclusion and acceptance of all students
  • Supporting different students across the week who have moderate to severe learning difficulties and promoting independence where possible
  • Supporting with personal care and oral hygiene programmes where needed
  • Working with the class teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate

Essential Requirements:

  •  Must have recent and/or transferable experience of working with young people, or vulnerable adults that can referenced within the past two years
  •  Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Child and Adult Workforce DBS or be willing to apply for one
  • Must have the ability to be adaptable and work closely with staff, parents and outside organisations
